Town Council’s financial activity for the year 2007/08
These charts show a summary of the Town Council’s financial activity during the year 2007/08. The figures refer to the income and expenditure during the year, and are allied to the council’s committees.
At the end of the year the council’s balances stood at £927,428. Of this, £570,029 represented funds available for general use, and £357,399 represented funds earmarked for specific projects.
More detailed information on their income and expenditure is given to the spending committees throughout the year and can be seen on the agendas for their meetings or by calling at the council office.

The council’s accounts for 2007/08 were on the public agenda for the meeting of Resources & General Services Committee on 25 June, where they were approved.
The public’s rights to inspect the accounts before the audit is carried out has been advertised on the council’s noticeboards and website.
The papers have now been sent to the council’s external auditor, the Audit Commission. The accounts can still be seen on the council’s web site under Strategic Documents and Policies.

Notice is hereby given that the audit certificate approving the Town Council’s accounts for the year ended 31st March 2007 was issued on 16th April 2008.

Copies of the audited accounts may be inspected at the Town Council offices at 1 Buckingham Court, Rectory Lane, Loughton, within normal office hours. A copy has also been placed on the Council’s noticeboard in the entrance to the Traps Hill library and on the council’s web site in Strategic Documents and Policies. Copies are available for purchase from the Town Council.

Any local government elector for the area is entitled to inspect and make copies of the statement of accounts and of any report made by the auditor other than an immediate report.
