These charts show a summary of the council’s financial activity during the year 2008/09. The figures refer to the income and expenditure during the year, and are allied to the council’s committees. At the end of the year the council’s balances stood at £979,806. Of this, £525,180 represented funds available for general use, and £454,626 represented funds earmarked for specific projects. More detailed information on their income and expenditure is given to the spending committees throughout the year and can be seen on the agendas for their meetings or by calling in at the council office.
The council’s accounts for 2008/09 were on the public agenda for the meeting of Resources and General Services Committee on 17 June 2009 and were approved at that meeting. The public’s rights to inspect the accounts before the audit is carried out have been advertised on the council’s noticeboards and website. The papers have now been sent to the council’s external auditor, the Audit Commission. The full accounts can be seen under Strategic Documents and policies
