Cllr Katie Nicholson

* Cllr Katie Nicholson   (Loughton Residents Association)
c/o 1 Buckingham Court, Rectory Lane, Loughton, IG10 2QZ. ( 07904 069998

I joined the Town Council following the by-election in December 2009.
Living in a flat in the Broadway, I love Debden and have a passion for the town and its people. What an amazing place, to be able to boast of a butchers, a bakers, two greengrocers, a brand new college, great schools and its own station linking us to the world’s greatest city!
I work for the Epping Forest Community Church, running “Kidz Club” and lead a team of wonderful volunteers who spend hours working with local children. We provide activities which give them opportunities to shine and achieve.

I was also involved in the early stage negotiations for the Murray Hall and the steering group for the council’s ‘Quality Status’ application. I served as chair of the Planning Committee 2000-2004 and was vice-chair of the Council in 2004 when I co-chaired the meeting between LTC and visiting mayors from Japan.

Before children arrived I worked in office administration and helped my husband with his business, prior to retirement.
I was a school Parent Governor at Little Heath in Hainault, before being elected an Epping Forest District Councillor for the first time in 2004, I was then re-elected in 2008 to District and Town as a Councillor.
