23 Algers Road, Loughton, IG10 4NG. ( 020 8508 4770

I have always had a keen interest in local community matters and was an active campaigner for the rebirth of this council in 1996. I also served as a county councillor for St Mary’s ward and a school governor.
In my working life, I was a senior executive and company secretary with one of the UK’s largest companies.
My particular interests are community services, the environment and anything that stimulates and maintains civic pride.

Cllr Lucette Howe

* Cllr Lucette Howe   (Loughton Residents Association)
19 Spareleaze Hill, Loughton, IG10 1BS. ( 020 8508 3719

I was born in Cannes (France) in 1940 and gained a Diploma in Law in Nice in 1959.
I started married life in Leytonstone and settled with three children, in Loughton, in 1969. I was a lecturer at Waltham Forest College in the Catering and Hotel Administration Department for 20 years from 1966 to 1986.
I have belonged to LRA since its inception and in the past I have been on the committee. I have been campaigning with others against litter, pollution, traffic fumes and for better maintenance of our roads and pavements. I am concerned that front gardens are disappearing fast and becoming fully paved frontages to park cars. I am particularly interested in safeguarding the environment of our beautiful town.

I have lived and worked in and around Loughton for most of the last 43 years spending my early years in Meadow Road. I attended Staples Road and Lucton Girls schools. Later on I studied as a mature student at Epping Forest College and valued my courses on counselling and psychology.
My interests include gardening and walking in the forest and surrounding countryside. I look forward to my work as a town councillor and hope to be helpful and approachable.
