Structure of the Town Council
The Council consists of 22 councillors representing the seven wards of Loughton, and employs 8 full-time and 2 part-time members of staff. The councillors are elected every 4 years, the next election being in 2012. The Town Council has set up a committee structure which deals with much of its business. The committees have delegated powers to act.
The 4 Committees are : Environment and Heritage; Planning and Licensing; Recreation; and Resources and General Services.
