Loughton has had more than its fair share of famous and notable residents. Since 1997, the Town Council has run a scheme whereby we commemorate the places where the people lived, as well as some important landmark buildings.

Where these plaques are, and the inscription on each, are set out below. All except the first are part of the Town Council's Heritage Plaque scheme.
