I spent my early years in Cheshire but lived in Ilford for a long time before moving with my family to Loughton in 2004. My career as a medical researcher took me to Rome and then St Bartholomew's Hospital in the City before I decided to go into teaching in 2001.

In my spare time I like to read, tinker with anything mechanical or do some DIY.

Although Rose's roots are firmly in Nottinghamshire, she settled in Loughton to teach in a local primary school after working in both China and Ireland. After about twenty years in education, she followed her passion for art and history and moved into museum work.

Rose worked at the National Portrait Gallery for eighteen years until it recently closed for a major refurbishment. She now volunteers at a local museum. She is also a qualified teacher of swimming and has recently returned to cycling. She is pleased to be a member of the Loughton Leisure Centre Customer Forum and the Leisure Centre Contract Monitoring Board.

Rose believes that one of the main roles of a local Cllr is to help all residents with their concerns. These may include housing issues, navigating Council bureaucracy or tackling antisocial behaviour.

Cllr Brookes also represents Loughton Roding ward on the Town and District Council.

This is my second term as a councillor.  I appreciate the lovely town we live in, I am friendly and approachable, empathetic and caring.  This year I have been given the honour of being Deputy Town Mayor.  I enjoy team working, respecting others opinions, and am knowledge and confident enough to express my own opinions and questions. My ambition for Loughton: road improvement, high street variety, forest preservation and living in a community that cares about one another.

I have lived in Loughton most of my life. I trained as a textile designer and ran my own company for many years. After having a daughter, I returned to work and, like most people, juggle work and home life.

I became involved in local politics after leading a campaign to try to save the Young Learners Nursery on the Epping Forest College development site.  I am keen to see improvements in Fairmead Ward.

I have enjoyed living in Smarts Lane for 22 years, the Forest and the environment of Loughton. Born in Yarmouth, I studied and worked in Edinburgh, Cambridge, Central America and Leeds before settling in Loughton. Cycling, the London and local arts, theatre and music scenes are amongst my many interests. For 12 years, I was director of a global maritime information company, and am now a maritime consultant.

I set up an Action Group to campaign to reduce through traffic in Forest Road, High Beech Road and Smarts Lane; and I will continue to work on this and the issue of non-residents parking, as part of my role as a councillor for Forest Ward.

I have lived in Loughton most of my life and my grown-up daughter lives here too.
I'm a professional home economist / food stylist.  My job took me all over the world working in film and TV.

We must ensure our green spaces and the Forest are saved for all to enjoy.  It's important to look very carefully at every planning application.  My concerns are parking, a serious problem in roads and litter.  I was Loughton Mayor from 2019 until 2021.  I am passionate about the strong community spirit of our town.
