Loughton Residents Association
Although Rose's roots are firmly in Nottinghamshire, she settled in Loughton to teach in a local primary school after working in both China and Ireland. After about twenty years in education, she followed her passion for art and history and moved into museum work.
Rose worked at the National Portrait Gallery for eighteen years until it recently closed for a major refurbishment. She now volunteers at a local museum. She is also a qualified teacher of swimming and has recently returned to cycling. She is pleased to be a member of the Loughton Leisure Centre Customer Forum and the Leisure Centre Contract Monitoring Board.
Rose believes that one of the main roles of a local Cllr is to help all residents with their concerns. These may include housing issues, navigating Council bureaucracy or tackling antisocial behaviour.
Cllr Brookes also represents Loughton Roding ward on the Town and District Council.
