Although Rose's roots are firmly in Nottinghamshire, she settled in Loughton to teach in a local primary school after working in both China and Ireland. After about twenty years in education, she followed her passion for art and history and moved into museum work.

Rose worked at the National Portrait Gallery for eighteen years until it recently closed for a major refurbishment. She now volunteers at a local museum. She is also a qualified teacher of swimming and has recently returned to cycling. She is pleased to be a member of the Loughton Leisure Centre Customer Forum and the Leisure Centre Contract Monitoring Board.

Rose believes that one of the main roles of a local Cllr is to help all residents with their concerns. These may include housing issues, navigating Council bureaucracy or tackling antisocial behaviour.

Cllr Brookes also represents Buckhurst Hill East and Whitebridge ward on the District Council.

I have lived in Loughton most of my life. I trained as a textile designer and ran my own company for many years. After having a daughter, I returned to work and, like most people, juggle work and home life.

I became involved in local politics after leading a campaign to try to save the Young Learners Nursery on the Epping Forest College development site. I am keen to see improvements in Fairmead Ward.

We moved to Loughton in 2015. One of the best things we have done.

Being in retirement I am able to offer my experience in architecture to assist with tackling the planning and development challenges facing the town.

Seeing the gradual decline of the High Road from vacant units I am keen to develop a vision for an even better High Road to attract and retain businesses.

Loughton is an interesting place to explore. Hence, I am also keen for Loughton to do more to exploit its heritage and charm to boost tourism.

Loughton is blessed with fantastic music/performing arts/art societies, clubs and classes. I would love an Arts/Culture event to celebrate and boost interest in our cultural assets.

I have lived in Loughton most of my life and my grown-up daughter lives here too.
I'm a professional home economist / food stylist. My job took me all over the world working in film and TV.

We must ensure our green spaces and the Forest are saved for all to enjoy. It's important to look very carefully at every planning application. My concerns are parking, a serious problem in roads and litter. I was Loughton Mayor from 2019 until 2021. I am passionate about the strong community spirit of our town.

I have been a resident of Forest Ward for nearly 40 years, moving
here with my wife and young family to enjoy a rural lifestyle away from the
urban environment of London.  My two children went to local schools and
are now grown up.

I am a Construction Engineer by profession, now retired having worked for major construction companies, as a Construction Manager, delivering a wide variety of projects from school buildings, bank refurbishments, Met Police Safer Neighbourhood bases, railway station infrastructure, office and hospital refurbishments.
