Both my children were educated in Loughton and I am a governor at Roding Valley High School. I have always had an interest in young people having been involved in Girl Guiding since the age of seven. I am an active member of Loughton Methodist Church.

I spent my early years in Cheshire but lived in Ilford for a long time before moving with my family to Loughton in 2004. My career as a medical researcher took me to Rome and then St Bartholomew's Hospital in the City before I decided to go into teaching in 2001.

In my spare time I like to read, tinker with anything mechanical or do some DIY.

Having lived in Loughton for most of my life I love walking my dogs in the forest.  The town’s proximity to London is also something I appreciate, visiting art galleries, museums and theatres.
My son, who lives with me has special needs and I used to work as a teaching assistant for children with learning disabilities so I now volunteer for the Chigwell Riding Trust.  I also help out at the Cancer Research shop in the High Road and at the Visitors Centre at High Beech

In the past 3 years I nurtured a puppy from 8 weeks
to one year for Canine Partners for a wheelchair user. I was also Chairman of Loughton Synagogue in an administrative capacity.
I enjoy team working, respecting others opinions, and am knowledge and confident enough to express my own opinions and questions. My ambition for Loughton: road improvement, high street variety, forest preservation and living in a community that cares about one another.

I have lived in Loughton most of my life. I trained as a textile designer and ran my own company for many years. After having a daughter, I returned to work and, like most people, juggle work and home life.

I became involved in local politics after leading a campaign to try to save the Young Learners Nursery on the Epping Forest College development site.  I am keen to see improvements in Fairmead Ward.
