Casablanca CGT

Casablanca CGT run cheerleading, gymnastics and trampolining classes and are affiliated to the British Gymnastics Association and British Cheerleading Association. Casablanca holds friendly fun filled classes with fully qualified and experienced coaches, teaching basic skills to beginners as well as advanced skills to our competitive athletes. Our sessions are for children from the age of 2.5 years through to adults. 

Gymnastics, Trampolining & Cheerleading develops strength, flexibility, balance, co-ordination, teamwork, stamina and general core fitness. The Club runs the nationally recognised British Gymnastics Association Proficiency Award Scheme and provides a full range of apparatus in our purpose built, dedicated training facility at Unit 40b, Oakwood Hill Industrial Estate, Loughton, IG10 3TZ.

Citizens Advice Bureau

The main CAB for the Loughton area is based in Loughton Library located in Traps Hill car park.
CABs offer free, confidential and impartial advice; they are independent of any other organisation, the bureaux in Loughton are predominantly staffed by volunteers.
Bureaux give basic legal advice and also assist with practical help such as filling forms, making telephone calls or drafting letters. They deal with a wide variety of subjects, but the majority of local cases are concerner with social security, debt, housing, employment, consumer or family matters. Two part-time advisers specialise in assisting clients with multiple debt and an employment specialist can help clients who are considering taking action at an Employment Tribunal.
Loughton bureau provides daily drop-in services and also deals with enquiries over the phone or by letter.

Community Legal Service Direct

Contact Community Legal Service Direct for free quality legal help and information. You can find a solicitor or legal adviser in your area, link to the right place on the best advice sites in the UK, see if you are eligible for legal aid or view legal information leaflets. Information is available in English, Welsh, Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, Gujarati, Hindi, Punjabi, Turkish and Urdu.
Community Legal Service Direct also offers advice through a national helpline, 0845 345 4 345, that gives specialist advice on benefits and tax credits, debt, education, employment and housing as well as a series of 31 information leaflets.

Custody Visiting Scheme

Essex Police Authority is looking for members of the public to join its Custody Visiting Scheme. Custody visiting gives appointed members of the public opportunities to turn up at local police stations unannounced to observe and report on the treatment of detainees and the conditions in which they are held.
Overall, the scheme's visitors seek to reflect the ethnic make-up of the local community and provide a suitable balance in terms of age and gender. The scheme helps protect detainees and the police, and provides reassurance to the wider community. Custody visitors are appointed on a voluntary basis but all reasonable expenses incurred on custody visiting matters are reimbursed.
If you are interested in taking part, are aged over 18 and have no direct involvement in the criminal justice system - for instance, as a magistrate, serving police officer or special constable - then please contact us at the address below for some further details and an application form. Debden House Quilters

The Debden House Quilters are interested in the craft of Patchwork and Quilting.
Meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month (except August and December) at 8pm. The aim is to promote the art and to bounce ideas off each other.

Debden Old Folk's Club

Debden Old Folk's Club extend a warm welcome to new members. Club members enjoy many activities, including bingo, cards, raffles as well as offering the chance for friends to sit down, enjoy a cuppa and have a chat.
Members enjoy two annual holidays, theatre trips, summer outings and the ever popular annual Christmas dinner.

Epping Forest Brass Band always welcomes new dedicated bandspeople, and offers the use of new instruments, which were funded from a £64,000 lottery grant.

Epping Forest British Red Cross

Epping Forest centre of the British Red Cross, in Loughton High Road, holds a number of public first aid courses as well as carrying out training in schools and various groups.
The members also provide first aid cover at many public events throughout the year. Also, the medical loan service continues to meet the needs of the community for special equipment to help individuals following injury or illness.
Public first aid courses are held with a standard course over 12 evenings. Shorter evening or one day courses are held for people requiring basic skills.

Epping Forest Shared Care

EFSC in Harlow recruits, assesses and trains volunteers who can take responsibility for a child with a disability, giving families much needed respite. The child usually goes to the volunteer's home for short breaks but sometimes the volunteer goes to the child's home. EFSC is looking for volunteers. Epping Forest Volunteer Bureau

Epping Forest Volunteer Bureau provides volunteers who give their time and talents to support fellow members of the local community. They may comfort crime victims, care for a neglected pets or help out in a charity shop - the list of voluntary work is endless. Whatever they do, it has a very positive impact on others.
Most charities and voluntary groups would not exist without volunteers. Many much-needed services which may seem to 'happen by themselves' would not happen without them. It's often people who work tirelessly without attention who fulfil many local needs. These needs remain, as does the need for volunteers.

Essex Place Names Project

This well established Project, which records the place-names in tithe, enclosure wards and other Essex documents is looking for volunteers to help with further recording.
The Project aims to record the names of roads, streets, fields, farms, houses, woods, inns, rivers, streams, mills, owners and tenants from old documents and maps dating from current Ordnance Surveys through 18th century tithe maps, estate maps, medieval Anglo-Saxon and (occasionally Roman) documents, parish by parish. The Project also aims to explore local areas where names suggest their history or use to see if any evidence exists and to make available this information to any person or group who wish to use it.
