Loughton, one of the largest town councils in Essex, is a very active council that provides a wide range of services to the local community.
RESPONSIBLE FINANCIAL OFFICER (RFO)
Full time post, 36 hours a week preferable, although part-time role 30 hours a week would be considered. Salary range from Spinal Column Points (SCP) 29 – £38,334 (Inner Fringe London Weighting Allowance inclusive-currently £998) /( £31,945 -30 hrs pro rata) to SCP33, £42,416 / (£35,347- 30 hrs pro rata), depending on qualifications and experience.(Pay increase pending)
Principal role to
Ø assume the position of RFO for Loughton Town Council
Ø prepare and monitor monthly and annual budgets and Year End Accounts
Ø complete year end accounts for the Town Council
Ø construct relevant Finance Committee agendas and attend Finance meetings
Ø administer data protection, insurance, health and safety policies
Ø apply knowledge and principles of the local government framework (statutory, legal, financial) to the ‘day to day’ office workplace
Ø manage ongoing project work
Ø assist at a number of high profile council events
Ø ideally with a recognised accountancy/ financial/ Cilca qualification
Ø some in-house training provided
