ANNUAL TOWN MEETING

The hall doors open at 7.30pm to allow residents ample time to view the displays mounted by a number of local voluntary organisations before the formal meeting commences at 8pm.

The guest speaker at this year’s Town Meeting will be Heather Scholer, from the Epping Forest Foodbank, who will talk about the vital work of this local charity.

The meeting agenda will follow the usual format with reports from the Town Mayor and Chairmen about the Council’s activities and achievements during the past year and its on-going plans for the future. This will be followed by a question and answer session which allows residents to express their views and ask questions about issues in the town.

Representatives from local groups, organisations and charities that were successful in their grant applications will receive certificates to mark their achievement.

After the meeting, light refreshments will be served and there will be time for residents to have an informal chat with their councillors.

Note to editor:

Under the Local Government Act 1972, all parishes in England must hold an Annual Parish/Town Meeting between 1 March and 1 June. All the local government electors in the parish have the right to attend, to speak and to vote.
