Christmas lighting
Published: 23 November 2018
Our exciting new Christmas
lighting scheme in the Broadway, High Road and Old Station Road was installed
on Wednesday evening. The new motifs and
wrapped columns looked lovely and we were delighted to receive compliments from
residents.
Unfortunately the contractors had
made one glaring error – we had specifically asked for non-flickering lights to
avoid any adverse impact on those people with photosensitive epilepsy. This condition
affects 1 in a 100 of the population.
On discovering this mistake on
Thursday we immediately contacted Blachere Illuminations who apologised for
their oversight. This problem had to be remedied and so last
evening the motifs were taken down by the installers and returned to their
workshop for modification. They have
promised to have them re-installed next week in time for the Christmas events.
