Citizenship Award Presentation

Our congratulations go to Peter Medway, the winner of the 2019 citizenship award. 

Peter accepted his award from Cllr Stephen Murray, Loughton Town Mayor at a presentation which took place at Loughton Town Council in Loughton Library on Wednesday 24 April.

In nominating Peter for this award, Cllr Murray said that Peter was extremely dedicated to all aspects of the community, he has been a Scout Leader for over 50 years, he is involved with teaching young people to sail at Fairlop Waters for many years, he works all hours as a volunteer for Abbeyfields care home, and has been known to repair a broken boiler at midnight.  

Peter has volunteered over many decades for the residents of Loughton and many of them may regularly see him at the Loughton Methodist Church.  Cllr Murray said that the award was well deserved.
