Alderton Hill Bridge Works
Published: 24 June 2019
The closure will be between Roding Road and Old Station Road. No vehicles, including emergency vehicles, will be permitted to pass through the closure over the bridge during these works.
Appropriate diversions will be in place, including those suitable for high sided vehicles during these works. Roding Valley High School will remain accessible at all times via Old Station Road. Pedestrian access will be maintained across Alderton Hill Bridge throughout the road closure.
As part of the scheme, some kerbing/pedestrian guard rail works are necessary. These are scheduled 5th to 9th August with the support of temporary traffic lights affecting Roding Road/Alderton Hill during day time off peak hours (10am-3pm). This negates the need for the works to be planned separately.
A Clearway/No Parking area will be operational throughout the bridge closure to support bus services and large vehicles such as emergency vehicles taking alternative routes. This affects Brooklyn Avenue and a section of Brook Road.
Letters are being sent to residents in the vicinity this week providing a link to the webpage where more information and updates will be made throughout the works. An additional letter is also being sent to those residents most impacted by the Clearway/No parking restriction so they have advance notice and additional information (example of letters attached).
To receive the most up to date information quickly we will provide updates as the scheme progresses. The full weblink is: https://www.essexhighways.org/transport-and-roads/highway-schemes-and-developments/highway-schemes/alderton-hill-bridge-loughton.aspx
