Christmas card competition 2021

Can you design the Town Council’s official Christmas card this year?

This popular annual competition is open to anyone who lives, works or is a student at a school or college in Loughton – whatever your age! Each category winner will be presented with a £25 gift card and a laminated certificate. Just enter the appropriate age category for yourself… whether it’s infant, junior, secondary or adult!

The challenge is to create an original, Christmas themed card. It must be of A5 size, either portrait (upright) or landscape orientation. The format can be a photograph, drawing, picture or illuminated script in either colour or black and white. Entries must be your own design/artwork, including any text and the original must be submitted, not a copy.

The closing date is Wednesday 10 November 2021

A customised entry form for an A5 design (either portrait or landscape) can be downloaded from our website 2021 entry form.pdf ( or collected from our office at Loughton Library & Town Hall, Traps Hill, Loughton IG10 1HD. Please note that the rules of the competition are detailed on the entry form.

The competition will be judged promptly after the closing date by the Town Mayor and Deputy Town Mayor. Here is a list of the criteria:

Ø Overall artistic appeal

Ø Quality of execution

Ø Creativity and originality

Ø Suitability for printing as a greeting card

It is hoped that an exhibition of the winning designs alongside a selection of the best entries can be displayed in Loughton Library at Traps Hill and Debden Library, inside Epping Forest College on Borders Lane, during December and the beginning of January.
