Loughton Wombles

Published: 02 November 2021

Loughton Town Council (LTC) are encouraging residents to volunteer to become ‘Loughton Wombles,’ to unite and take on this problem.

After numerous covid related delays, LTC is now pleased to announce that the first Loughton Wombles meeting was held last week. We thank the considerable number of local residents who attended and have volunteered to become a ‘Loughton Womble’,  to take on the challenge of making Loughton a litter free town.

Following a short briefing, litter pickers, Hi Viz jackets and gloves were handed out to all likeminded residents and sent on their way!

The vision is for groups of volunteers to coordinate and operate together, on a regular basis. You will see them out and about very soon.

As well as helping a worthy cause, it is a great opportunity to socialise and make new friends.  Regular updates will appear on our website and Facebook pages.

If you’d like to join in and help, please contact Debbie on 020 8508 4200 contact@loughton-tc.gov.uk
