Jessel Green Community Fun Day!

Published: 29 June 2022

Record numbers attended the return of the Jessel Green Fun Day following its absence for three years due to Covid. Great fun was had by all who attended the event, the weather was fantastic and this popular annual, not-for-profit, community family fun event proved more successful than ever.

Deck chairs lined the arena area where residents were entertained with music, dance, a children’s entertainer, Taekwondo and a Punch & Judy show.  In addition to all the usual bouncy castles, inflatables and fun fair rides for children.  A fabulous display of Kites, provided by the Essex Kite Flying Association, flew above the event and the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee was celebrated by a Best Crown Competition which was won by 4 year old Ronnie Stafford.

There was a great variety of community and charity stalls which included a Raffle stall in aid of the Town Mayors charity, 3Food4U where a lucky winner won a BMX bike worth £150.00 donated by Halfords.

The event organised by Loughton Town Council, thank the Red Balloon Family Foundation and Restore Community Church for all their assistance. The Town Council also thank John Walsh and his team at the Cottage Loaf pub very much, for their generous sponsorship, and providing the live music from 4pm into the evening that rounded off the day perfectly.

And a final thank you to The Loughton Wombles whose members came along and litter picked!
