Cllr Valentine grew up in Loughton, and after several years of living away, including abroad for a while, she moved back to Loughton when her daughter was born. She is married and now has two young children.   Katie’s career started in advertising, then the Civil Service and now she works in technology, currently for the NHS using digital to improve health and social care. In her spare time Cllr Valentine’s interests are running, music and the arts, writing and travelling.

“We have a strong local community here in Loughton and it's an honour to be elected for the Town Mayor for 2024-25 and I will enjoy meeting the many diverse groups and organisations we have in our town”

Cllr Valentine has chosen Haven House Children’s Hospice and Loughton Voluntary Care as her chosen charities for her year.

The new Town Mayor congratulated Councillor Les House on his appointment as Deputy Town Mayor.  Cllr House was elected to represent the newly formed Debden Ward and has been a member of Loughton Town Council since 2021.
